Elizabethtown College student, Amy Stoops awarded Kappa Delta Pi Scholarship

Amy Stoops '15, of Oaklyn, N.J., was awarded the $1,000 Donna Gail Shaw Scholarship for Chapter Service from Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education. She is a senior early childhood education major and human services minor at Elizabethtown College.

Stoops applied for the scholarship, which is based on transcripts, involvement in Kappa Delta Pi and a written essay, last spring. A review committee evaluated the scholarship applications that were submitted from students around the country and selected the recipients.

Stoops is dedicated to serving others and has been involved in many projects throughout her time at Elizabethtown including a three-week service trip to Vietnam through Brittany's Hope Foundation, various service trips with Elizabethtown College's Center for Community and Civic Engagement, participation in Girl Scouts of America and also volunteering with the Milton Hershey School.
